Keeping your Google Business Profile up-to-date with accurate photos is essential for creating a strong online presence. But what happens when an image is outdated, irrelevant, or doesn’t reflect your brand in the best light?
In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to remove unwanted photos from your Google Business Profile, whether you're the business owner or a customer who wants to suggest a removal.
Photos on Google Business Profile
Photos play a crucial role in attracting potential customers to your business. They showcase your products, services, and the overall atmosphere of your location. However, not all photos are beneficial.
Images that are low-quality, don't meet correct cover size requirements, outdated, or uploaded by customers without your consent can negatively impact your brand's image. That’s why it's important to know how to manage and, if necessary, remove these photos from your profile.

Remove a Photo From Your Business Profile as an Owner
As the business owner or manager, you have more control over the images displayed on your Google Business Profile. Here’s how you can remove unwanted photos:
Log in to Your Google Business Profile: Go to Google Business Profile Manager and sign in with your associated Google account.
Select Your Business Location:Choose the location you want to manage if you have multiple listings.

Go to the Photos Tab: Navigate to the “Photos” tab on the left-hand menu.

Find the Photo You Want to Remove: Browse through your uploaded images and select the one you wish to delete.
Click on the Trash Icon: Click the trash icon or “Remove” button on the top right of the photo. Confirm the deletion, and the photo will be removed from your profile.

Remove a Photo from Google My Business as a Client
If you’re a customer who has posted a photo or you’ve noticed an inappropriate image on a business’s profile, you can suggest its removal. Here’s how:
Go to the Business Listing on Google Maps or Search: Search for the business on Google Maps or Google Search.

Click on the Photo Tab: Click on the “Photos” section to see all images related to the business.

Select the Photo You Want to Report: Choose the image that you believe should be removed.
Click the “Flag as Inappropriate” Icon: Tap the flag icon in the top right corner of the image. You’ll be asked to provide a reason for the report.

Fill Out the Report Form: Select the reason for reporting the image, such as “Spam” or “Not a photo of the location,” and submit your request.
Google will review your report and decide whether to remove the image based on their content guidelines. Keep in mind that this process can take some time, and not all requests may result in the photo being removed.
